Frequently asked questions
Do locksmiths need a license in Utah?
Utah's contractor rule R156-55a-301an exempts lock-smithing from contractor licensing. Other agency and city rules can still apply.
Can I get my locks changed if I am a crime victim renting in Utah?
Yes. Utah Code 57-22-5.1 lets a crime victim renter with a protective order or police report require the owner to install a new lock, at the renter's cost, and bars giving a key to the perpetrator.
What do I do if my child is locked in the car?
Call 911 right away. NHTSA says to act immediately; a child's body temperature rises three to five times faster than an adult's.
